DIRECTIONS TO AVON, CONNECTICUT

Avon is located 10 miles West of Hartford, Connecticut on Route 44.

Or, it is easily accessible from Route 84 East or West. Take Exit 39 (Route 4 - Farmington). At the end go through the light and follow into Farmington Center. Turn Right onto Route 10 North and go 5 miles to Route 44 in Avon. Turn Left onto Route 44 West and go 1/2 mile to the LIVING MUSEUM on the Right. Parking for the museum at the Avon Post Office by turning Right onto Route 10 North by the Avon Congregational Church (built 1819) and taking your first Right onto Enford Street.

Return back onto Route 44 West. Turn Left onto Route 167 South. The DERRIN HOUSE will be 2 miles on the Right opposite the First Company Governor's Horse Guard grounds.

Continuing South for another 1.2 miles you will come to the PINE GROVE SCHOOLHOUSE on the Right.

The HUNTER HISTORY ROOM at the Avon Public Library is located on Country Club Road which intersects Route 167 halfway between the DERRIN HOUSE and PINE GROVE SCHOOLHOUSE.
